61 Indiana Youth Serving Organizations Awarded More Than $800K in Second Round of Youth Worker Well-Being Project Grants
Oct. 31, 2024 (INDIANAPOLIS, IND.) – Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) has awarded more than $800 thousand in grants to 61 Indiana youth serving organizations through the Youth Worker Well-Being Project.
The second round of grants opportunities were made available for eligible organizations to identify potential gaps and needs in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) and/or trauma-informed workplaces and take steps towards improving workplace conditions for youth workers. This includes creating workplace cultures where youth-serving professionals are recognized and valued for their unique identities, abilities, background, culture, and ideas and can better manage stress because of improvements in the workplace environment.
“The first round of grant applications received made it clear youth-serving organizations see the need for improving trauma-responsiveness and equitable workplaces for their youth workers,” said Tami Silverman, president and CEO of Indiana Youth Institute. “We are committed to continuing the investment through this second round of Youth Worker Well-Being Project grants to help even more organizations improve these efforts.”
Activities funded by the grants include training and consulting services, assessing organizational practices, and creating workplace programs to foster equitable workplace environments and improve well-being. The following Indiana youth-serving organizations received awards for initiatives to improve diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and trauma-informed workplaces.
