D. Susan Wisely Youth Worker of the Year
IYI’s D. Susan Wisely Youth Worker of the Year Award annually recognizes one extraordinary youth worker for their positive impact on Indiana’s children and youth. Throughout her career, D. Susan Wisely worked unwaveringly to champion Indiana’s children and youth workers. The D. Susan Wisely Youth Worker of the Year Award was established in 2014 to honor her legacy.
What is IYI’s D. Susan Wisely Youth Worker of the Year Award?
Recipients of IYI’s D. Susan Wisely Youth Worker of the Year Award exemplify a commitment to improving the lives of all Indiana’s children and youth. They exhibit leadership, courage, and passion in all that they do. They respect differences and diversity and believe in creating equitable opportunities for all kids. Awardees are individuals who mentor others and build trust, possess integrity, are honest and responsible, and demonstrate commitment to results and effective practices.

Nominations for the 2024 Youth Worker of the Year Award will open in the spring but it’s never too early to think about who you could nominate!
Requirements for nomination:
- Indiana youth worker who provides direct services to children and youth
- Has at least five years of service in youth work
