Building A Thriving Compassionate Community (BTCC) is a network of organizations and individuals collaborating to provide training, build relationships, and promote actionable change to address the root causes of social problems in Monroe County and throughout Indiana. Our vision is embedded within our name; we represent a diverse group of local stakeholders working to build thriving and compassionate communities.

BTCC’s work includes offering trainings that engage organizations to examine their programs, policies & practices, and communities-at-large.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
Primary Services:
Organizational Knowledge

Trainings like our Power Analysis, Dominant Narrative, and Implicit Bias Primer all offer space for organizations to assess how to build belonging, inclusion and equity into their everyday work. All BTCC trainings use a popular education model and interactive facilitation style, where participants and trainers join the table as co-learners.

Trauma-Informed Workplaces
Primary Services:
Organizational Knowledge

Trainings like BTCC’s Trauma and Community Resilience, Primary Prevention, Collective Care, and De-Escalation all hold space to assess how best to support community members who have experienced crisis, and how to prevent harm and violence in our communities. All of our trainings use a popular education model and interactive facilitation style, where participants and trainers join the table as co-learners.
