Le’Joy is IYI’s Vice President of Organizational Capacity. She is a native of Indianapolis, with more than 15 years experience in education and nonprofit management. She is passionate about increasing access to equitable education opportunities and supporting youth-serving organizations. 

Le’Joy completed a Ph.D. in urban education studies from the Indiana University School of Education, a master’s degree in public administration from Bernard Baruch College in New York through the National Urban Fellows Program and a bachelor’s degree in business management from Indiana University, Bloomington. She has held various roles in secondary and postsecondary education, teaching the third grade, managing K-12 afterschool programs, working in student support services in higher education, and providing strategic direction as a nonprofit executive team member. In addition, Le’Joy has also supported school, community, and government agencies in building organizational capacity through her work as a consultant and leadership coach.

She continues to serve her community as a board member for various community organizations in Maryland and Indiana. Her goal is to increase impact for those she serves through creative, authentic, and engaging approaches and practices.
