2024 State of the Child Event to Focus the Latest Well-Being Data of Hoosier Youth during “Day of the Child”
Indiana Statehouse kickoff event on February 19 will focus on Indiana Youth Institute’s 2024 Indiana KIDS COUNT® Data Book with insight into the issues Hoosier youth are facing
INDIANAPOLIS (February 8, 2024) – State, federal, local leaders and youth service providers will gather on Monday, February 19, 2024, at the Indiana Statehouse to learn how Indiana children are doing across the categories of family & community, health, economic well-being, and education. There will be an emphasis on data intersectionality, racial and ethnic disparities, and data-informed solutions for some of the most pressing issues facing Hoosier kids.
The State of the Child kickoff event is hosted by Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) in partnership with the Commission on Improving the Status of Children in Indiana. Governor Holcolmb’s office will issue a Day of the Child proclamation as part of the event.

Indiana Youth Institute’s (IYI) State of the Child is based on 2024 Indiana KIDS COUNT® Data Book. The 30th annual book presents the latest data on the well-being of Indiana’s children and youth. This year’s Indiana KIDS COUNT® Data Book will be released on February 19, 2024.
