Grants Available to Strengthen and Support Youth-serving Organizations

Nonprofits, in East Central Indiana eligible for support 

INDIANAPOLIS (Aug25, 2020) — The Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) is now accepting applications for two grants that aim to strengthen organizations serving youth in East Central Indiana. 

 

This unique opportunity can provide in-depth, tailored support, which is needed now more than ever with the recent obstacles youth-serving organizations are facing, said Dr. Tami Silverman, IYI’s President and CEO. “Each year we are excited to help strengthen local organizations and offer this opportunity with the goal of supporting their critical work with our Hoosier children and youth.”   

 

Now for the 16th year, the grants are available to improve the organizational capacity of youth-serving nonprofit organizations in East Central Indiana by providing: 

  • Professional consulting from IYI to provide strategic planning, sustainability planning, board development, program development, evaluation, school and community impact, or leadership development and executive coaching 
  • Funds for one staff member to participate in professional development  
  • Registration to participate in IYI’s 2020 Kids Count Conferenceand  
  • The opportunity to apply for a financial sub-award for support identified needs.  

 

Eligible nonprofit organizations must: 

  • Be legal entities 
  • Focus on promoting the healthy development of youth, and  
  • Be located in and provide services to youth in Delaware, Randolph, Henry, Jay, Grant, Madison and/or Blackford counties.

Funding for these grants is generously provided by the Ball Brothers Foundation. For the past 16 years, the Ball Brothers Foundation has partnered with IYI to grow and strengthen organizations in East Central Indiana.  

Recipients of the 2019 grants were Motivate our Minds and Jay County Drug Prevention Coalition.
