America’s Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being

Summary

The Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics’ (Forum) was chartered in 1997 by the authority of Executive Order No. 13045. The Forum fosters collaboration among 23 Federal agencies that (1) produce and/or use statistical data on children and (2) seek to improve Federal data on those children. This year’s report, America’s Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being, 2021, provides the Nation with carefully selected key national indicators of our children’s well-being and monitors changes in these indicators. The purposes of
this report are to improve reporting of Federal data on children and families; make the most relevant data on the well-being of children and their families available in an easy-to-use, nontechnical format; stimulate discussions among policymakers, data providers, and the public; and cultivate relationships between the statistical and policy communities.
